The flag widely associated with Thomas Tew, an English privateer turned pirate from the late 17th century, depicts an arm holding a sword (although it has not been confirmed that Tew flew this flag).

Richard Worley, who spent a mere five months as a pirate before meeting his end, is better remembered for his design of the now universally recognized Jolly Roger flag—a skull and crossbones on a black background.

The red flag, when used by pirates, came to mean 'no quarter given', meaning that no mercy would be shown and no life would be spared, while a black flag usually meant that those who surrendered without a fight would be allowed to live.

Yeah? Can you draw a skeleton riding a motorcycle with flames coming out of it? And I want a pirate hat on the skeleton.

And a parrot on his shoulder.

A skeleton parrot.

Or maybe a ninja skeleton parrot? No, that would be overkill.

But it'd be cool if the biker skeleton could be shooting some ninja throwing stars.

That are on fire.

Beautiful and a former prostitute, Captain Sao controlled more than 1,500 ships with 80,000 men and robbed and taxed towns, plundering ships along the coast of the South China Sea, all the while enforcing a strict code of conduct upon her men.

After he turned to piracy, the Frenchman was known for the viciousness he showed to his vanquished, as well as his success in raiding many towns (he was one of the most successful pirates on land attacks) and capturing many ships.

Bartholomew Roberts 'Black Bart' (Welsh, 1682 - 1722) Roberts' crew admired his adventurist courage, calling him 'pistol proof' - though he had been forced into piracy, having once been an officer onboard a ship that was captured by the pirate Howell Davis.
