You don't have to tell anybody if the eerie airbnb stories and books featured below make you uncomfortable. I'm pretty sure they do that to everyone...

Sleep choking in Biloxi

This has been a mystery for over 2 decades and recently I've started listening to a few different paranormal podcasts, so it's peaked my interest, but still, I haven't heard anyone telling a story like mine.

This was back in 1998, in Biloxi MS, where I was stationed at Keesler air force base for tech school. We all lived in the dorms and had a roommate. I had this dorky raver kid who wore glasses and these really baggy raver pants during off duty hours. He had the top bunk and I was on bottom. Well, 1 night I woke up in an absolute panic, because I felt like I was being choked. I jumped out of bed clutching my throat with 1 hand and reaching for the door with the other. I'm gasping for air, but I manage to get the door open and go running down the hallway like a lunatic until I can finally catch my breath. Obviously, my fight or flight response was triggered, and I chose to flee the hell out of that room. When I got back to the room, my roommate on the top bunk is looking at me with this half awake squinted eye look on his face and asking me "wtf are you doing, what happened?" I don't remember my response, and I just went back to bed probably relieved I could breath again. This "sleep choking" happened a few more times in that room, then eventually my room was changed for some reason; I have no memory of why it was changed, and this "sleep choking" NEVER happened again. It's been over 2 decades without incident.

BTW, in 1998, I was fit, probably 165 lbs at 5'11" and I don't have sleep apnea nor do I snore (my wife is extremely grateful for this). Sure I was stressed because of tech school, but I stayed in another room in that dorm and didn't have this "sleep choking" issue. Over the years, I've slept in countless Airbnbs, hotels, a few hostels, apts, houses and nothing like this has ever happened. Often, I wake up with my heart rate at 50 BPM, and at 44, I take health and fitness serious. I don't smoke or have GERDacid reflux, but laryngospasm could be an explanation, but why did these episodes only happen in that room and never before or after?

It's too bad I wasn't as analytical back when I was 20; it would've been nice to have a log of some details about these strange happenings, but I just have my memory. It's also nutty that I was so accepting of what was happening despite being into the paranormal even back then. Also, my roommate asked me about it, but it was literally a 1 minute conversation that never came up again.

At this pt, I can't think of a logicalscientificmedical explanation, so the only other option is paranormal. Anyone have any paranormal(or medical) theories on why I was getting choked out in Mississippi?

Something yanked my steering wheel and almost caused an accident

So this happened last week, didnt really think to share it but i cant shake it off.

I was driving from RI to NY, about a 3-4h drive, I was celebrating my birthday with my gf and was on the way to our Airbnb. At this point of our trip we were in the backwoods area of CT. It was a 4 lanes highway and I was on the middle lane. Idk how the conversation came up but we were talking about deaths (Travis Scott incident) and my gfs dad passing (he was buried in NJ). All of a sudden I had a sick feeling in my stomach and my steering wheel got yanked to the right and almost made me crash into a white pick up truck on the right lane. My gf was scared and asked why did I do that and I explained to her I didnt. For the next 1-2m I was fighting my steering wheel to keep it straight, I swapped lane to the right and drove slower.

My gf asked if I wanted to turn around since it was a bad sign and since we were already 1.5h into the drive I continue forward. Anyone had this type of encounter before?

Edit: spelling

Edit 2: theres a lot of people mentioning that it might be my car, I work on my car on the side as a hobby like modification etc. My electrical steering is fine, Ive had everything serviced recently as well for my inspection sticker.

What's worse than finding out your AirBNB host owns a typewriter that has all its keys replaced with human teeth?

Finding out it's still a few teeth short.

Continuing paranormal experiences after my first ever encounter

So last December I had my first paranormal experience in my entire 32 years of living(you can probably find the post in my profile) and now Ive had continued experiences. Today was the latest. As a quick run down Ill just tell you my first was a figure in my girlfriends moms basement as I was leaving with Christmas gifts. It terrified me to my core.

Second : few months later I was randomly checking footage of my security camera one morning and saw the alert for animal movement. Its almost always rabbits and was this time too. But during the video it sounds like breathing and voice saying hello. For some reason I chose to watch this video among the dozen or so taken from night to morning and this one I hear the breathing and voice. This video I also posted so if you go through my posts Im sure you can find that too.

Last nightthis morning was the latest. To start we were out of town and staying at an Air bnb. The first night was fine. Last night was our second. Typical quadplex. Middle of decent neighborhood central location. The usual check out by 11 rule. So our plan is be up and around by 10, clean up and leave by 11. Randomly yesterday before we leave in the afternoon my girlfriends daughter (9) is FaceTiming her friend from school and walking her around the Airbnb. In The room we gave her I can hear her on the phone with her friend say And here is the creepy closet. I ask her why she thinks its haunted joking and she says with a straight face not haunted. Creepy

Write it off. Dinner and beers while we wind down. She goes to bed early me and my girlfriend stay up to watch a movie while I polish off some more brews. Bed time about 3. As I go to lay down Im just restless. Not feeling tired despite a long day of running around, a huge dinner and 8-9 beers. That usual combo puts me out like a light. But tonight Im wide awake. I go to the living room.I just cant stay still. I dont even feel drunk. I try to watch tv. The minutes tick by. Im so stir crazy I couldnt even sit still. Until around 5:30am as the sun is coming up. I try to go back into the room with my girlfriend and wake her up on accident. Not tired as soon as I sit in bed and she wakes up. I apologize and leave. Back to the couch. I usually never have insomnia esp after a night of food and beer.

Now is when it gets weird. As Im back in the living room I feel tired. Weird but ok. I lay on the couch with my fan and start dozing off about 6am. But right as I feel myself falling asleep I hear someone walking in the hall between the rooms and bathroom. Maybe my girlfriend. But the bathroom light doesnt come on. And Inever hear the door open. I try to go back to sleep and same thing , as soon as I feel myself dozing off this time I hear undistinguished talking. Between a woman and child. I think its weird my gf would be up at 6:15 talking up her kid. I get up and its quiet. No one in the hall. Im creeped out now. I get back to the couch. Restless. I get tired again about 6:45 but this time as Im about to sleep and dozing off I feel someone at the end of the couch. Just that feeling you get when someone walks in the room as youre trying to sleep. Open my eyes no one there.

Now is the fun part. My gf couldnt get back to sleep. Shes up at 7:15 and says shes just going to get ready and we can just check out early. We leave an hour early and decide to skip eating in town and just get coffee and go back. 3 hour drive home. Literally the minute we get all the bags back in we look out the window and snow starts dumping. We didnt know it was going to snow. No one else must have either because the highways and roads were not treated. If we hadnt left early we would of been halfway home stuck in the crap. The roads became instant ice and it dumped 2inches of sleety snow in about 3-4 hours. Countless wrecks all over interstate. If I hadnt been so restless and had those creepy experiences who knows what would have happened. We could of wrecked or at least been stuck low on gas.

Its so weird to go my whole life with literally no ghost stories or hauntings to seemingly one Every month and half since my first. Is it common to not be sensitive to the paranormal until an encounter and then you become a lot more sensitive? Ive also noticed Ive been more emotional since that first encounter. Sometimes I find myself sad randomly. But unexplainable. Its almost the same feeling as thinking about a recent death. Maybe that part is me just getting closer to a midlife crisis lol But another par of me feel like my initial encounter has opened me up. Or maybe the thing I saw is staying with me. Idk but Ive started becoming more and more creeped out

My friend and I encountered the strangest and most terrifying thing we've ever seen while backpacking in Thailand. I have no explanation and would love insight.

My friend and I had been backpacking through Asia for a couple months before moving back to the states. Towards the end of our trip we stopped in Phuket, Thailand and checked into an airbnbhotel for the night. The night we checked in, we had gone to bed as usual, sharing the bed as we had done the whole trip. I was dead asleep when I woke up to my friend clutching my arm tightly, with a look of pure terror on her face. As I looked at her completely confused as to why she's terrified, she said "do you see it?" and shakily pointed to the corner of the room, on her side of the bed. I looked up and saw this LARGE figure, moving and expanding and collapsing into itself at the same time. It felt as if the energy was being sucked from the room. It appeared a mixture of black and glowing, metallic red. It did not resemble a human at all, my brain really couldn't even fully comprehend what I was seeing. So, naturally I responded to my friend by shakily pointing to the corner as well, and responding "yeah... it's growing." The really weird part is the last thing I remember was pointing, feeling scared and then I woke up in the morning. I fell asleep but it's more like I just blacked out. The next day we didn't even discuss it. We said "that was strange, huh" and moved on. Recently, years later, we compared notes about what we had seen and experienced. Our notes aligned in every way, what we saw, passing out, how we felt. It's one of the strangest things that has ever happened to me and I could never really think of an explanation as to what we experienced. Has anyone had a similar experience or could shine light on possibilities?
