    Toki Pona/Vocab, (vernunftzentrum.de), 07/23/2018
------------------------------------------------------------
Day 2 of 12 memorizing the 120 main words in Toki Pona. I
downloaded and printed some lessons, which happen to have
their own word memorization, so instead of going straight
through the dictionary, I'm going to start learning vocab
out of order. It makes more sense, as the lessons have
purpose to the words they introduce. In the end, the goal to
learn the 120 words is the same, but it is augmented with
the goal of learning some of the language structure.
Learning a dictionary from A to W isn't that great anyway.
Disorderly conduct is more fun.
Here are the first set of words from lesson 1.3, which I
learned today. There happened to be 10; in the future, if
there aren't 10, I'll add some from the dictionary. I'm
making do:
 Day 2 Words:
 Jan human, being, person
 li separates subject from verb/predicate
 mi I, me, we, us
moku To eat, drink, consume, ingest, swallow
 ona He, she, they, it
pona good, positive, useful, peaceful, simple
 sina you
suno sun, light, radiance, light source
suli big, tall, strong, important, long
telo wet substance, beverage, liquid, fluid, water
Like day 1, writing this post is my final test for
memorization- don't use the above as a reference, it's just
the best I could do from memory.
I noticed, using the lessons, that the dictionary doesn't
cover as much about the words as it could. The lessons
had a lot more information. For now, I'm sticking with
understanding and memorizing what is in the dictionary; I'll
figure out the rest as I learn the language itself.
In other news, I got my wife to help quiz me. I printed her
a list to learn as well, but she's really not at a place
where she has time or energy or interest. It sounds fun to
speak toki pona with family members though.
