Re: new newsgroup for word processors
Now that I have read Ken Arnold's flame as well as his objection to the
name net.ao, I want to go on record as in agreement with him. I'll bet
the "ao" is a typo, and that "oa" ::= "office automation" was the original
intent. Why oh why do progamming people feel that it is necessary to
delete all the vowels and every fifth consonant to make up empty abbreviations
no one can remember? I propose that net.ao be changed to net.office.
With respect to subgroups, why is it necessary to limit names, etc to things
in the file system? Computers in this context should be useable by others
than the cognoscenti.
