A Few Good Ghost Stories to Give You Chills - Odd Nugget
A ghost, in common folklore, represents a living being lingering around in our waking world.
Why anyone would die and fly free only to stick around in their old, delapidated house beats me, but most ghosts seem to be into it.
Ghosts, on the whole, are often described as, well, clingy.
That would explain why they never let go of their homes, relatives or favorite possessions. But, possessing an old jack-in-the-box still seems like the kind of kink you should have ironed out.
If you're as interested in understanding ghosts as I am, then it's no surprise you ended up on this page.
The weird ghost books and stories below will hopefully keep you flipping pages faster than a window opened by a moonborne breeze...
GHOST 👻 (A Paranormal Romance)
Frizzy haired and overweight, sixteen year old Elizabeth Summers hears ghosts. She also reads people's auras often seeing when something bad is headed their way. Unfortunately, she can't choose which ghosts visit her psychic hotline or when her paranormal abilities are triggered.
Since dealing with otherworldly spirits won't help her gain social acceptance in her high school, she hides her psychic gift.
Reluctantly, Elizabeth starts exploring her psychic skills when handsome Australian loner, Dylan Grant, asks her to help him find out what happened to his missing sister. As the summer heats up, Dylan begins to see Elizabeth in a different light than the overweight, psychic girl he corralled for her paranormal abilities.
There's a spell on this book." Madame Regina frowns, her brow creasing in concern. "No, not a spell. It's a curse!" Alarmed, I feel the temperature of the room plunge as our breaths collectively plume into the frigid air. The unnatural cold feels as if someone's opened a large freezer door. I can't stop shivering. Madame Regina makes a strangled cry of distress, her voice growing urgent. "Demons are trying to come through! Whatever happens, don't break the circle!" Dylan and Jerry look terrified as the delicate tea cup sitting by Jerry's hand starts rattling uncontrollably. Glancing down, I check to see if he's touching the china, but both of his hands are lying flat on the table. Everything's shaking as if we're in a seismic earthquake. "In the name of Christ, I exorcise you from this room!" Madame Regina shouts the command as the feet of the table rises two inches, then crashes back to the floor. Shaking pictures on the wall start rattling, adding to the mayhem...
Me and my brother have always said this house is haunted, and last night I saw a ghost.
I've lived in this house for pretty much my entire life with my parents, nan, and brother. It's really old (this whole street was built like a couple hundred years ago) and it's really weird. Me and my brother are 90% sure it's actually haunted at this point. Our parents and nan think we're nuts lol but honestly the houses around here are so old I'm surprised they're not *all* haunted.
My brother says he hears kids voices at night sometimes. He thinks he's hearing a few really little kids and it's always been the exact same few voices, and he's been hearing them for more than 10 years, so it's probably not just neighbours talking or a TV or something. He's never been able to hear them very well so he's only ever caught a couple of words, he says he's heard the words "willow", "country", "downstairs" and the name "Betty" really clearly in kids voices. He's also heard a woman's voice say "Thomas" once.
My room will sometimes randomly have this horrible chemical smell, like it smells like paint thinner or something. We've never been able to figure out where the smell is coming from. A few years ago my parents even got the carpet pulled up partly because they thought the smell was in the carpet (but also cos the carpet had a bunch of stains on it, I was a messy kid) and nope, it didn't get rid of the smell.
We also smell smoke sometimes when there's really no reason to be smelling smoke. No one's cooking anything, there's no candles, nothing that explains the smell. The smoke alarms even go off sometimes. They've all been replaced and they still do it, so it doesn't seem like a problem with the actual alarms. Occasionally there's also a gross burning smell, like burning rubber or something. We wouldn't have connected the smells to anything paranormal except we always get this weird uncomfy feeling like something isn't right, and it's the same feeling my brother gets when he hears the voices.
Last night I was smelling the burning smell and the smoke, and my smoke alarm went off. I opened my door to let my mum in because she was carrying the stepladder and behind her I saw a pregnant woman in a long old-fashioned dress kneeling on the floor with her hands over her face. I only saw her for a split second but it was so clear. I also got this really sad feeling. I think she was crying or something and I just felt so sad for her and kind of scared for her.
Edit: probably should have mentioned that my parents and my nan don't believe it's a ghost thing and think it's an old house thing so they've been getting all kinds of professionals to check the wiring, check for gas leaks, check in the roof, they even paid for the neighbours to get their wiring and stuff checked in case it was a problem in their places (terraced houses, ya know) and nope, nothing.

The Troublemaker's Ghost
What would you do if your apartment is haunted by a smoldering hot ghost, who is planning to make your life a living hell if you don't move out? RUN!
But Grace Summers is determined not to. Possibly because she's broke and her only choice lies in living in her father's apartment.
In one night everything changes for Grace. Her boyfriend cheats on her with her best friend and not only that, she discovers herself being haunted by a devilishly handsome delinquent ghost. (As if getting cheated on wasn't enough!)
Unfortunately, putting up with an arrogant entity isn't her only problem. A/N: This book isn't meant to scare you but I can't make any promises that you won't be smitten by a ghost.
